Music Events:

  • 1925 - Edgard Varèse's Intégrales is premiered in New York City

  • 1929 - Pianist Fats Waller records his piano solo Handful of Keys

  • 1969 - During a performance at Miami's Dinner Key Auditorium, Jim Morrison of the Doors is arrested for exposing himself during the show. Morrison is officially charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent behavior, open profanity and public drunkenness.

  • 1973 - The New York Joffrey Ballet's Deuce Coupe Ballet opens. The ballet is set entirely around music by The Beach Boys.

  • 1984 - Sting plays his last concerts with The Police at the end of the Synchronicity tour; the band takes a "pause" after the tour and only play a few special events together after this.

  • 1994 - Nirvana plays the band's final concert in Munich.

  • 1996 - Pianist Geri Allen records Eyes In The Back of Your Head Ornette Coleman

  • 1997 - The rock band Phish records Slip Stitch and Pass live at Markthalle, Hamburg, Germany.

  • 1999 - Sony Music Distribution raises wholesale prices on audio Compact Discs by 8 cents
